I think this picture looks like it was taken in a studio with a fake background and artificial lighting, but nope, it was just a self-portrait taken by holding the camera at arms-length while we read the morning paper on a bench at the park.

This is a pretty good hummus recipe. We always like to keep a couple cans of chick peas on hand, especially in the summer time, so we can whip up a batch at a moments notice. We keep a large jar of tahini in the fridge which will make many batches of hummus.
2 15 ounce cans of chick peas
2/3 cup tahini
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cloves garlic (I substitute a little garlic powder if I don't have any fresh on hand)
Toss it all in a food processor and blend until smooth. Sometimes I might add a few dashes of Tabasco. It is also really good if you garnish it with finely minced parsely.
We had left over pork kabobs from yesterday. I toasted half a piece of pita bread, spread a few tablespoons of hummus inside and then put some cold pork into it. Delicious. It sounds really simple, but the tastes add up to something quite greater than the sum of their parts. Try it.

I think Nutella is overrated. It tastes almost exactly like Duncan Hines chocolate frosting. You can taste a slight nuttiness from the hazelnuts, but it is so slight that once you put it on a banana, cookie, etc. the hazelnut taste is totally overpowered and it might as well be chocolate frosting.
