My A1c numbers have always been in the 7.x range. The doctor just called and, because of my weight loss, my last test came back a 6.6.

Excellent control: A1c less than 7%
Good control: 7 to 7.9%
Fair control: 8 to 8.9%
Poor control: greater than 9%
