I love our cheap laptop that we got just for web browsing around the house. I will never again not have a cheap low powered laptop strictly for the purpose of web surfing. If it broke I would replace it within 24 hours without question.

With a lowly Celeron processor and only 256 Mb of RAM it would be a little painful to run anything much more powerful than a web browser.

Since we got ours a month or so ago for $500 I have seen a number of other laptops for $500, and a couple for $450 after rebates!

I always have it nearby while watching TV. I like being able to instantly get more information on anything that we might see on TV. An unfamiliar word. A map. All of the past films a person has been in. Further clarification on news stores. Stuff like that. Watching TV has become a much more active process.
